For a yeast infection cure you have no further to look than your physician, your pharmacy, or your fridge. All three of these sources can hold just what you need for a great yeast infection cure.
If we take our sources one by one, your physician has the ability to give you prescription medications which can potentially a yeast infection cure for you. For instance, the prescription drug Diflucan uses only one dosage and is supposed to be a particularly effective yeast infection cure.
Other prescription yeast infection cures include Terazol and Gynazole, both of which are vaginal creams, and also Mycostatin which comes in the form of vaginal tablets or vaginal suppositories.
All of these have side effects which you should be aware of when taking them, as do the next set of potential yeast infection cure, the over-the-counter variety.
Up until the very early part of the twenty first century it is shameful to admit but there were no over the counter remedies available as a yeast infection cure. On the contrary, if a woman had a yeast infection she had to visit her doctor to get proper medical attention and to receive a yeast infection cure.
So although the offerings in this department are still woefully meager, they are nonetheless there and available to anyone who doesn’t wish to advertise to the world, or their doctor, that they have a yeast infection.
Although it is best if you get a proper checkup for your yeast infection it can’t be denied that with the availability of these creams a new world has opened up, and women can now treat such a simple problem without any attendant fuss or hoopla.
All the available over-the-counter yeast infection cures work along the same principles as the prescription yeast infection cure, and most of them come in cream form, or suppository form. The more familiar brands include Monistat, Femstat, and Vagistat.
Moving on next to the natural cures and remedies section, you will find that the number of alternative yeast infection cure methods are too numerous to do more than give an honorable mention here.
To that end only a few of the well known natural yeast infection cure methods have been mentioned. To begin with we’ll start off with everyone’s favorite the yogurt yeast infection cure. It can be messy in the extreme to have to apply yogurt to the vagina, but it turns out that it is well worth the effort.
Another natural yeast infection cure that is well known and used is that of the garlic cure. Being one of the wonder herbs of the world, garlic is good for many an ailment and is a particularly effective yeast infection cure, especially when used as a suppository.
Next up you have apple cider vinegar, cranberries, oregano, cinnamon, curd, Tea Tree oil, lemon, lime, and Vitamin C. All of these can be used as an effective yeast infection cure and all of them work.
Yes it can be cured by OTC meds prescription from the doc and home remedies…one home remedy ive read about is natural yogurt NO SUGAR ADDED!!! insert a tampon into the yogurt and then place it in….its messy but i heard it works…
Canesten
You can easily treat a yeast infection with a prescription medication or an over the counter medication like Monistat. It’s not a good idea to try home remedies like those without first talking to a doctor. You don’t want to end up with a bacterial infection or hurting yourself.
If this is the first time you have had a yeast infection you need to be checked by a doctor to make sure that is what is wrong and not something more serious.
If you have had a yeast infection before, then yes you can cure it with OTC products. I don’t recommend the garlic and tea tree oil or you might end up with your crotch on fire! You are already probably raw and tender and adding garlic or tea tree oil is going to send you into orbit!
You can buy things like Miconazale Nitrite Vaginal Cream or Monistat or Gynolotrimin over the counter at any drugstore or supermarket or Dollar General. Keep yourself clean and wear clean underwear (bleach all your underwear to help to prevent re-infection). Watch your diet cut back on sugars, starches, bread, beer things of that nature. Hope this helps
Don’t forget about the power of Acidophilus.
Acidophilus is a group of probiotic bacteria cultures found in common foods like yogurt. Introducting these cultures into the body during a yeast infection is a great way to rebalance your PH levels and kill the candida overgrowth.
Some recommend applying PLAIN yogurt to the outside vaginal area. However, eating the yogurt should have the same effect.
It’s important to use PLAIN yogurt because flavored yogurts contain extra sugars that actually encourage yeast infections.
Dont use monistat…
Go to either wal*mart or cvs, walgreen, rite aid, etc. Go to the vitamin section and look for "Acidophilus". These vitamins work wonders!! You will notice a change in about 2 days. And for example……. say you think you have a yeaste infection…. but it turns out you really have a bacterial infection it will still work. It cures all type of vaginal infections. I have done some research here on yahoo answers and that is how i found out about the vitamin. A bottle of acidophilus cost about $4.00-$10.00
Also i have also heard if you get the gel caps of acidophilus you can insert them into the vagina and it is supposed to make it work quicker. I think they sell the gel caps at local health food stores. Good luck to you. Hope this info helps.
You could also try Boric Acid: Boric acid has antiseptic and antifungal properties. Inserting boric acid suppositories/capsules, sometimes also with garlic paste, in the vagina, and leaving it overnight, for several nights, can give good results. However, boric acid should not be used on open wounds, and pregnant women should also refrain from using them.
If these conventional home remedies do not work, the next approach is to try some common over-the-counter medicines. Azole medications are most common in yeast infection treatment. These are antifungal medications, and they work by blocking the formation of ergosterol, a key constituent of the yeast cell wall. The yeast cell wall becomes leaky in the absence of ergosterol, and the yeast dies. Incidentally, human cells are safe from azole action, as ergosterol is not a constituent of human membranes. The frequently used OTC azole formulations are clotrimazole, miconazole, butoconazole, fluconazole etc.
Another common antifungal medication that is used for thrush (oral yeast infection) is nystanin. For severe, systemic infections of yeast, doctors prescribe amphotericin B. These medications work by attaching to the ergosterol on the yeast wall and cause minor holes in the wall. The cell wall becomes leaky, and eventually the yeast dies.
By a week or so, yeast infections cure with applications of these medicines. If the symptoms still persist, it is advisable to go for a medical check-up. Your doctor may order a blood sugar test or some other tests to find out whether there is any complication like diabetes that is contributing to a general decline of immunity.
