Yeast infection not responding to treatment….do I have HIV? HELP!?
I have been treated TWICE in the last four months for a yeast infection that will not go away. The last time I could have been exposed to HIV was EXACTLY FOUR MONTHS AGO, which was around the same time my yeast infection began. The only way I could have gotten HIV, though, was by getting a bikini wax (my skin broke i.e. I was bleeding, the lady didn’t use gloves and I DON’T KNOW if she had cuts on her hands as I was in too much pain to pay attention). Anyways, I heard that persistant yeast infections that don’t resond to medication are early symptoms of HIV in women. I was tested at the three month mark and my results came back negative. But I’m also stressed out all the time and I’m anemic, which could contribute to a late seroconversion period (6 months). I don’t know if I can wait another 2 months to be tested and I am losing sleep over this. HELP!!!!!
The first time I was treated with Diflucan (one pill). The infection came back two weeks later and the second time I was treated with Gynazole 1 cream, which was 2 months after my first treatment. It’s still there though!

I don’t think you are HIV positive. Calm down. First did a doctor diagnose you with the yeast infection or did you decide that it was a yeast infection and buy stuff like Monistat to treat it yourself. Sometimes vaginal bacterias can be confused with a yeast infection, but they are treated differently. For a bacterial infection of the vagina you will need antibiotics either by mouth or in cream form or both. Get to the doctor. Remember diet is important too when dealing with recurrent yeast infections. Start eating some yogurt with active cultures like Yoplait every day. If you don’t like yogurt then you can take acidophiles capsules, which are sold next to the vitamins. Make sure you keep them in the refrigerator after opening the bottle. Next throw out any pantyhose you may have been wearing. Cotton underwear only, no nylon. No tight fitting pants. If you go to the gym, make sure you don’t sit around in sweaty close after wards. You need to stay dry and cool down there. Good luck.
Oftentimes a (BV-bacterial vaginosis) is misdiagnosed as a Yeast Infection. Buy using Yeast Infection treatments for it will only make it worst. Go to planned parenthood and get it check. IT could just be a feminine problem.
YOu can try to douche with a little bit of "hydrogen peroxide" with water if you don’t want to go to the doctor.
Um, why don’t you just go to a doctor besides guessing on the internet.
Chronic yeast infections are symptoms of *advanced* HIV.
