Yeast infection and vaginal odor?
I started treatment yesterday for a vaginal yeast infection (nearly 24 hours ago) and now I notice a strong smell when I go to the powder room. I wasn’t one hundred percent sure that this was a yeast infection, but as I’ve had similar symptoms before and treated it as such with success, I decided to do the same again. Anyhow, I wanted to know if this odor is normal during treatment for yeast infection. I didn’t notice any odor before I started treatment, just itching, burning, soreness, and pain during sex and sometimes during urination. 34 weeks pregnant. Thanks for any help!

I just bought Monistat 3 tonight, and when I was reading the warnings and directions, it says that if your pregnant, you need to talk to your health care provider before use. I suggest you call and make an apt. tomorrow and discuss it then. Good luck!
Uhh yea, if you are pregnant you need to go to the doctor.
Maybe it wasnt a yeast infection so when you treated it like one it had the opposite affect. you can never be too sure unless you go to the doctor though…
I recently conducted a test and the doctor saw yeast cells in my stool. He prescribed Ketrodonazole( for 2 weeks) and pharmaton ( for 30 days) capsules for me. He advised me to run the test again after 2 weeks to see if the yeast cells still show. I advise you run a stool test to confirm any infection.
Because you’re pregnant, you should discontinue use and consult your doctor. Since you haven’t described the odor, I’m not exactly sure what could be the cause, but yeast infection suppositories do have a smell. The smell isn’t unpleasant, though, so if that’s what you’re smelling, there could be another reason.
