What would be the signs of a puppy having a urinary tract infection and how would they get one?
in another question, someone suggested maybe my pup had a UTI because she had started peeing in the house after five months of being potty trained… I have made a vet appointment, but I’m anxious to wait until then. Anybody know any signs of this that we would be able to tell, or is it just a test they would have to run on her urine? Thanks

The peeing in the house even though she is house trained seems like a symptom in itself. Where I live it gets pretty cold about this time of year. My pup would go outside to do her business, and then, when the warm air hit her bladder, she would pee again. Usually, with a bladder or a uterine infection there will also be a slight discharge. Take her to the vet. They will probably just check her out and give you antibiotics. With the antibiotics you should see results in a couple of days. Good luck.
OK, my dog had a UTI, but it was VERY obvious that he had one because his pee was red. If you are convinced that the puppy is not showing signs of separation anxiety, which is very common amoung dogs, especially puppies then take her to the vet and I beleive there is a test that can give you a definitive answer.
Your Vet will probably do a urine analysis. Frequency, and yipping while urinating as well as blood tinged (pink) urine, and only going in small amounts. might indicate a UTI.
She would be peeing a lot more. example: instead of four times a day, 10 times a day. Also when she pees it could be a little each time.
Actually, my puppy is currently getting over her UTI. She was peeing a lot, licking herself more frequently..the vet said most pups experience pain n show it when they pee, also look for signss of urgency to find a spot to go. Good luck! She’ll be fine, just make sure she does go to the vet for some antibitotics
