Try asking "Do you have STD?"
Its sometimes better to be straight to the point than to beat around the bush. Could sometimes be even more offending.
But before asking maybe you should be aware of the usual signs and symptoms of an infected person. By seeing such, you don’t have to ask then.
ask them if they have any sexual health problems there really is no tact full way by the way mono is not an std you can get mono from drinking from a can or bottle of an infected person and this is treatable with antibiotics hiv is not so do use a condom. it is a small step to lessen the possibility of a big problem
Tell you what, if it concerned my own personal wellbeing-I would have no problem asking someone straight up if they had any sexual health problems or had an STD. I also know there are millions of people out there that aren’t willing to divulge that information even if they’re being asked it just depends if you want believe them or not. Mono is not an STD.
Just say that you won’t have sex with anyone without checking on their sexual health. That is how it is.
STD’s are a serious matter and need to be addressed before sex is introduced into a relationship.
if they are being responsible they would tell u before having sex.
