Chlamydia is easily cured with antibiotics if taken correctly and completely. The antibiotics are taken orally. Chlamydia may not cause symptoms until the infection has spread to other parts of the body. When symptoms do occur, they usually occur one to three weeks after exposure to the organism.
Because people don’t take their antibiotics as directed or don’t take all of them or take inappropriate antibiotics, antibiotic resistant strains of many bacteria are becoming more prevalent.(in general terms, dumping pills down the toilet instead of taking them to a drug store for proper disposal is also creating antibiotic resistant bacteria.) This may or may not be the case with you.
Were you also tested for Gonorrhea? If your treatment has run its course and you still have symptoms, you should see your doctor again- both of you…don’t want to be passing it back and forth.
