Probiotics are the beneficial bacteria that live in your intestinal tract. They help maintain regularity, help in absorbing the nutrients in your intestinal tract, and help to maintain a healthy internal ecology (which can help keep yeast and other bacteria at bay). It’s most important to take probiotics after an antibiotic regimen because the antibiotic kills off much of the good bacteria and makes it difficult for it to hold back against the bad bacteria. That’s also why many people who have antibiotics either get reinfected easily or get more yeast infections shortly after.
As a heads up, some people do experience loose stools when they first start taking higher doses of probiotics, especially if they don’t have much of the good bacteria in their intestines beforehand… but it goes away within a day or two usually. It’s just your body’s way of balancing itself out.
Good luck and I hope I helped!
Probiotics are made of live bacteria or yeasts that aid in digestion and boost the immune system.
There’s no need to take these things daily, you produce them naturally anyway. If you do feel you need to take them then get them from yogurt.
yogurt also provides them and is probably cheaper and also provides other nutrients and tastes good.
No special advantage unless you are having a problem, which most people do not.
