Please please give honest answer.. candida scams?
Hey guys, I need some advice cause i dont know what to do.
I have been suffering with generally feeling unwell for the past 4 years… pressure headache on my eyes and temples, spacey, dreamy feelings, tiredness, heavy head.. and 2 health shops did a test and said i was a candida overgrowth.. i did the diet for 2 months with no change so gave up..
Howver, I have been feeling really down recently.. im quite big and binge eat.. and went to see my DR. He said the symptoms are more likely to be stress related and that Candida is not the cause of this all.. the problems is I worry cause I have felt like this every day since I was 17 and it’s so bad how can it all be in my head??? It started about a year after a family member of mine died and i started binge eating and feeling bad.
I had blood tests and they are fine, just a slightly underactive thyroid. Should I be on the candida diet?? Im going well at Weight watchers but I dont think its goin to help and im scared to eat some stuff!

Candida is a genus of fungi. Candida albicans is the species of fungus that causes candidiasis, basically an infection or as they seem to say here, overgrowth. Your doctor is correct. Candidiasis is relatively easy to identify and if your doctor can’t do it, he should be fired. Health shop employees don’t have a clue what candidiasis is. They have little or no scientific background. There is NO SUCH THING as a Candida diet, not scientifically anyway. I could inject your pharynx with a highly active strain of Candida albicans and as long as you are immunocompromised, you’re going to get oral pharyngeal candidiasis regardless of what nonsense diet you’re on or what herbal supplements you’re using. There aren’t any diets or herbal supplements that help your immune system except a regular balanced diet. Consulting a "health shop" about your health is like consulting a monkey on how to drive a car. Natural doesn’t equal safe (in fact the most deadly toxins in a lab come from nature).
You need to be screened for depression. The overeating is likely a symptom of that. I don’t buy the Candida thing at all. Two months was a fair trial.
Find a doctor who specializes in weight management. Its going to take major changes in your lifestyle, and it may take more support than Weight Watchers can provide.
You may also suffer from sleep apnea, which would cause the tiredness and spaciness in the daytime.
When you lose the extra weight, you’ll probably find that things improve all around. I wish you the best of luck.
If you are confident with this doctor, stay with him and do not shop around. You will get as many opinions as yu see practioners if you are not careful.Be sure your thyroid functions are all right.Stay with weight watchers and lose the weighjt.Their diet will help and not harm you.Exercise.Seek help for your depression. As you lose weight and build your self esteem you will stop the binge eating and your problems will disappear-but not overnight as the yeast gurus would have you believe.
There’s no harm in going on the Candida diet. You’ll only benefit. Why not just give it a shot? If it works, problem solved. If not, move on to the next solution. It’s all trial and error. So take action rather than speculate. You’ll feel better for doing something about it.
