I have my period and I was wondering if anyone had heard that if you put napkin in your underwear it will cause an infection. Sometimes I do that because my pad gets full and I dont have a pad. Does it cause an infection? Or is that a rumor my friend made up?

Only if you don’t change it regularly or if the napkin is "used"… make sure it is a clean napkin! I had to do the same…no diff than using a pad. good luck
I guess it could cause an infection if the napkins had a print on them. If you were allergic to the ink, I guess it could cause problems. I have done the same thing before and it never affected me.
No, it will not cause an infection if it is a clean, unused napkin. But, only use that for emergency cases like if you start and absolutely can not get your hands on a pad, because napkins will soak through fast. Also, they don’t have a sticky side so they could fall off, and imagine how mortified you’d be if it fell down your pant leg!!
ummm i am 27 and there for have had mannnnny periods.. I have done this ALOT of times cuz I am soooo forgetfull to pack what I need…and I HAVE NEVER had an infection of any type ever!
Ive never heard of that what can cause an infection is if you dont chane often enough. Good luck with the big wave and I hope everything works well for you

That’s not true. But you shouldn’t use napkins, Try always having a pad or tampon. Napkins aren’t as good as pads and tampons. Because there not made for that.
Its obviously not the first choice of things to use. But you also don’t want to bleed all over the place. As long as it’s a clean napkin you’ll be fine. But I’d advise you to make sure you ALWAYS carry extra pads or tampons on you. Just in case. But don’t worry. I think we’ve ALL been in this boat a few times. lol
its a total rumor! well, just use common sense like if there’s a napkin on the floor or in an unsanitary bathroom, u know not 2 use it but if you’re careful then it wont cause any infection

Always use a clean napkin. When in emergency use a napkin or toilet paper does the trick preferably a thick layer as possible.
I don’t think so, but you can get a rash from being wet there for so long.

Your friend is right. Regular table napkins are not sanitized to the same degree as your sanitary napkin is. They are packaged in a sterile environment so as not to get bacteria on them that can in turn get onto your nether region. Table napkins carry bacteria that can cause urinary track infections, not to mention the dye’s that some table napkins have on them for decorative purposes. If you run out of pads it would be better to use some folded up toilet tissue, but you really need to try to keep a good stock and remember to carry 1-2 in your purse;o)
no! dont listen to them.. the reconmended thing in that case is to do that even though the ords are toilet papper but hey napikins will work to.
