Is it true that putting yogurt in your vagina will cure/revent a yeast infection? Has anyone actually tried it
I have been searching about it and I see 50/50 results. I want
to hear from people who actually tried it and got good results. No smartass answer and dont reply if you dont know what you are talking about.
Thanks and 10 points to the best answer.

My husband’s ex tried it and he said that it cleared it right up. You have to buy the plain yogurt though for it to work properly with no added sugars. colors or flavoring. Putting those into your vagina can cause an even worse infection.
I’ve never actually heard about putting it in your vagina. I’ve only heard that you should eat some every day to help keep from getting one, especially if you have to take antibiotics.
Personally, I don’t think I’d want dairy products in there. The whole spoilage issue, etc. I have a feeling you’d get better results ingesting it the old fashioned way. Good luck!
I think it can help restore the balance of ‘good bacteria’ in your vagina, but I don’t think it can cure a yeast infection.
I went through a time in my early 20′s that I had yeast infection after yeast infection. I tried the yogurt thing, took boric acid tablets, and took the OTC creams and suppositories. The OTC stuff worked the best for me. It won’t hurt giving it a try if you want to restore your vagina’s natural flora after taking antibiotics…just make sure you use plain yogurt with no added sugars to it, which could just end up feeding the yeast.
Another less messy option is to take acidophilis and bifidis capsules orally to keep your good bacteria in check. I think this is very helpful if you are having recurrent yeast infections as it could indicate you have too much candida in your system generally.
Good luck, and just ignore any wise ass answers!
hmm…i got some yogurt for ya!!! lol
but seriously…i did some research on this a while ago for old gf. it does work but you have to get the kind that has live microbes or active somethings in it. "Activia" for example works and a certain dannon works too. it say next to the brand.
i have done that before.
i worked for me
i use PLAIN yogurt rubbed a thing layer onto a tampon applicator with a tampon and inserted tampon and applicator into my vagina.
i let it stay in there for thirty minutes. and then take it out by pulling on the string.
i suggest that you wear a pad because it will get messy and for the thirty minutes- walk around and do some exercise.
also after you do insert it, your vagina will burn for like 5 minutes because the good healthy bacteria in yogurt is reacting with the bacteria in your vagina. this will help to clear it up.

Ive tried this once using natural yogurt from the fridge. Gently cleanse vagina with (unscented) cotton pad and luke warm/cold water, apply the yogurt generously in the vagina much easier to do when laying down on your back. It does stop the irritation temporarily, I would suggest a thrush capsule as long term fix. Also avoid thongs, always wear cotton knickers, dont bath/shower with really hot water, this helps to prevent unneccessary recurring thrush.
See your GP if you keep getting strings of yeast infections because it could be a signal of other issues
