I am on a strict candida diet and I splurged..is my whole progress ruined?
I went out and had almost everything your not supposed to..alchohol, chocolate cake, ice cream, wings with blue cheese. I am taking antifungals and have only been eating the special candida diet for a few weeks..so is everything I’ve done completely gone to waste? will my candida regain all its strength back?

Your whole progress wasn’t ruined, but you just gave your yeast overgrowth a ton of food to multiply! It most likely set you back quite a bit. A yeast diet is not like any other diet where you can have a day off and resume back the next day! You are on this diet to starve out the yeast. However, don’t kick yourself, we are only human and have our weaknesses and faults. Just continue on like nothing ever happened and really stick to it this time – It’s not a long-time diet! Best of luck to you, Mariah! ; )
you could count today as your cheat day. A cheat day acutally improves results of a diet, and those things you describe is what you’re supposed to eat on the cheat day – things high in fat and carbs. It keeps the body from thinking its starving and keeps the levels of fat burning hormones in the body high. A cheat day may make you gain half a pound that day but then you go on to loose 2.5 by the end of the week whereas without it you might have only lost 1lb that week.
One day a week like this won’t throw you off if youre on track the rest of the time.
HI. I’ve been on those diets before as well and the books said cheating would make the candida worse. I found out the candida issue is exaggerated. I got better by just switching to a mostly gluten free diet (see below). I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and eat candy only once in a while. I’m doing great. After you are finished the candida cleanse, consider just making a lifestyle change that is low in sugar and avoiding processed foods etc. Oh, and take LOTS of probiotics!!!!
