How long does thrush take to clear?
My 14mos old son has thrush on his bum. Took him to the Dr on Monday, who prescribed a clotrimazole cream. We are cleaning his bum with cotton wool and water, but it doesn’t seem to be clearing!
i should mention, it isn’t on his penis, just on his bum hole. cheeks and the sides of his testicles. Should i put the cream on his penis anyway so that it doesn’t spread?
umm camie did you not read my question at all?!!

it took my son a bout 6 days to clear up and improve then we kept it up for another week not sure if you have been told but once you apply the cream but a waterproof barrier cream on top this allows it to best absorb without being washed off by urinating also try a differant brand of nappies i find using huggies gives my son nappy rash after 6 -8 hours the middle range nappies work best as they dont leak but allow breathing
good luck
probably best to take him back to the doctor, the cream usually kicks in after 2 or 3 days.
Hope he gets better soon
Take him to the doctor and they can get you some cream that is best for him!!!
Hope I could HelP!!
Awh, poor wee man, maybe it is a different type of fungal infection and not actually thrush, or maybe he might need something of a stronger strength..
good luck!
You are doing everything right, but it should of cleared alot by now with the cream.. I would put it everywhere if I was you, as you cant always see the thrush..
I had thrush on my breasts and I couldn’t see it but ohhh I could feel it..
Also if you have ever had thrush yourself you know that it usually clears within a few days..
hopefully it gets sorted for him before the weekend, but I would definately take him back
