How long does the first herpes outbreak last?

I believe I’m having my first herpes outbreak and its extremely uncomfortable. My doctor didn’t give me any medication for it because I’m awaiting the test results to see if I do in fact have herpes.
The most uncomfortable part is the one really painful sore I have on my labia and it makes it hard to sit down. How long will this outbreak last and is there anything I can do to relieve the pain (home remedies) or make the outbreak go away faster?

Out breaks typically last between 1-3 weeks on average. You may want to go back to your doctor and get some medication. Some times doctors will give medication as a precaution. You can try taking pain killers and sit in some warm epsom salts baths for 10-20 minutes, Lysine can also help if you don’t want to take medication.
Hi unfortunately until your test results come back ur Doctor can’t prescribe Valtrex which will lessen the attack occurrence and stabilise Herpes ,until then u could always use cold compress to lessen the pain and Betadine ointment is good to use short term.
Outbreak usally lasts up to week until sores start to dry up in women gotta remember they are in moist place yeah? Check out sites below ciao ♥
Transmission of Oral Herpes
Oral herpes (usually HSV-1) has been detected in both the saliva and blood of patients with active oral infections. It is the most prevalent form of HSV, and infection is most likely to occur during preschool years. BUT ,Oral herpes is easily spread by direct exposure to saliva or even from droplets in breath. Skin contact with infected areas is sufficient to spread it. Transmission most often occurs through close personal contact, such as kissing. In addition, because HSV-1 can be passed in saliva, people should also avoid sharing toothbrushes or eating utensils with an infected person.

Transmission of Genital Herpes
Genital herpes is most often transmitted through sexual activity, and people with multiple sexual partners are at high risk. HSV, however, can also enter through the anus, skin, and other areas.
People with active symptoms of genital herpes are at very high risk for transmitting the infection.
