Feline herpes virus, or Rhinotracheitis as it is more commonly known, is a common respiratory virus. It is very contagious. It sounds like your vet is treating appropriately. It is important to make sure he is eating and drinking well, as dehyration is a complication. It usally runs it’s course in 7-10 days, unless there is also secondary bacterial infection. They usually recover well. Possible complications can be chronic sneezing and nasal discharge and eye problems. Just make sure your vet gives him a clean bill of health before stopping medications.
Wow i read the question and thought you got the feline herpes …. Awkward……. anyway if it doesnt clear up in about a month id say see a vet … i mean make the cat see the vet……
