How do you treat a vaginal yeast infection?
I am 12 years old and I am pretty sure that I have a yeast infection.
I don’t want to tell my mom that I might have one because my friend had one and she found out
and she assumed my friend was having sex.
I don’t want my mom to think that i am not a virgin because I am a virgin.
So I want to know how to treat one without having to go to the doctor for it.

Although you can get a YI from sex it is more common to get them either because you have recently been on antibiotics or from wearing a bathing suit for too long or even wearing the wrong kind of panties. I get YI all the time. Some people are more prone than others to them. First make sure you are wearing cotton panties that are not too tight. Try eating yogurt with active cultures, it will help although won’t take it away. You either need to get monastat or go to the DR and they will give you diflucan or something equivalent. Your mom should understand if you have one and you shouldn’t have to continue on with the horrible symptoms of a YI!!!
hun, no offense but if your mom thinks your having sex just because of yi then shes kinda stupid. there’s not a lot you can do for a yi if your not willing to get help for it. try yogart
it helps
good luck, and your mom should trust you more.
you can buy monistat 7 from walmart or walgreens or anything like that, and its used to treat a yeast infection, depending on the state you live in, you can make yourself a doctors appt though, and by law they cannot tell your mom about it
As a 50 yo man who has suffered with yeast infections (candida albicans) over the years I can certainly understand your suffering. Over the counter medications do help as does eating yogurt and less sugar. If these do not clear your problem up then you will need to go to a medical professional.
I don’t know your mom, but would it be possible for her to accompany you to a doctor or clinic? Perhaps if she hears from a medical professional that it is not necessarily sexually transmitted she will be more understanding. You are a very young lady with a lot of life ahead of you. I know moms can be a pain (mine still is sometimes), however if you can keep an open line of communication it will greatly simplify your life.
Yeast infections aren’t that easy to permanently get rid of. Many products can temporarily relieve the symptoms, but a long term treatment approach will be your best bet to completely elliminate it.
One of the more popular and effective homeopathic solutions is yeastrol. It’s very effective at treating vaginal, penile and oral yeast infections.
What you can also do to speed your recovery is to change you diet in a way that will starve the yeast organisms (Candida).
Things that you should remove from your diet are all sodas, sugars, fruit, fermented foods, foods containing white flour,
alcohol (especially beer), antacids and any product that has yeast or mold.
Things to add to your diet are live yogurt cultures (or take Acidophilus), plenty of water, fresh vegetables, lots of protein rich foods, whey protein, raw garlic, nuts, seeds, oils, millet, rice and oat brans
Another thing to keep in mind is that both you and your partner should consider the diet change/yeastrol treatment as you can be passing the infection back and forth between you.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
I’ve included the link to their website if you’re interested
I don’t know your mom, and I won’t attempt to try to answer for her. That being said if I were your mom, i would want you to tell me so I can help you get the proper treatment. That is what mom’s are for. however, if she’s hard to talk to, try going to another adult, maybe a friends mom or someone you trust, even a guidance school counselor. You shouldn’t be getting medical advice online at 12 years old. There may be more to it, and I would hate for you to follow through with what someone said online and find out there is something more serious wrong. Adults, and no offense, often have a better feel for their bodies. At 12 you have a lot to experience before you can be certain you have a yeast infection. SORRY!
