How can i make free STD calls in india from PC to mobile phone using internet connection?

I am in north side of india and my family is in south. Every month i am getting huge amounts of mobile bills. I want to get rid out of this. I heard that using Skype software we can make STD calls in india for free. If it is true, can any one suggest me how to proceed?. I have my own PC along with broad band connection.

just go to skype and see what they say. if anything you could get a web cam and just talk to people for free on skype through two computers. but im sure their prices are a lot cheaper than mobile bills either way.
