Herpes????

I’m still a virgin and I just want to know that couple of years ago I had a blister on my lip. Is that considered a herpes virus ? And I haven’t engaged into any sexual activities(including a kiss) before or after.

It’s usually Herpes but there are different kind of Herpes and don’t worry . As a fact all of us had the virus as baby’s and as we grow most of us stopped getting the outbreaks and some people don’t grow out of it and still continue to get outbreaks .
I agree with Alli, my younger brother had cold sores when he was still in grade school. ( he get’s them way less now ) Most likely born with it, (the mother can have the virus) or contact with others…it’s REALLY common, but with you for life…best way to check is get ot tested! Some friends cold sores only come out in heavy sun, when stressed (of course) or when their period is coming on. If you have it, you can manage it!
I think that sore on your lip was probably the Herpes virus I which is the cold sore..you usually see the STD Herpes virus II on the genitals however if you are exposured with oral sex that is possible..but if you haven’t had sex you are probably OK…
Cold sores (blisters around the mouth) is a form of herpes. It is the most common form of herpes virus. Shingles (similar to chicken pox in adults) is also from a herpes virus. There are so many forms of herpes. Cold sores aren’t from cross-contamination (oral sex). Cold sores are HSV1 (herpes simplex virus 1). Genital herpes are HSV2 (herpes simplex virus 2).
First of all I want to praise you for still being a virgin. There are two types of herpes. Herpes 1 is usually found around the mouth area and you can get this without having sex. Herpes 2 is from having sexual contact with a person that has this. However, if you have a herpes sore on your mouth and had oral sex with someone you could give them Herpes 1. Not all sores in the mouth or lips are herpes, some are just caused by dryness or the sun. Stay a virgin, sex can be a killer and there are so many STD’s around it is not worth the worry. Wait until you are older and ready, I was a virgin when I married at 21 and have never regretted it.
It is called Herpes simplex 2.. You don’t have to get it by kissing, or sex. When you are born, you have the genes of whether or not you will likely develop such things like a fever blister. If they would have done some sort of genetic testing on you, it wwould have shown that you have the genes of developing a fever blister. However, you can get it from other people. It is contageous when present.
Blisters can be caused by a bunch of reasons. Herpes is just one. Herpes is caused by a virus, but it tends to stay localised to the area you contract it, and it’s generally passed by skin to skin or skin to infected fluid contact when one of the herpes sores is open. The most common way of getting herpes on your mouth is from oral to genital contact. Thus, if you arent sexually active, you probably dont have herpes. Cold sores are a form of herpes, and they are transmitted in a similar way. If you havent kissed someone who had a cold sore, then chances are you dont have that either.
Finally, if you are truly worried, go and see a doctor and ask for a STD screening test, and make sure you specify that you want a herpes screening test. That is really the only definitive way of knowing for sure. But it sounds to me as though you dont have it.
It could be. Herpes simplex one (cold sores) appear on your lips and mouth area. You DO NOT need to have sex to get this. Babies and children get the virus a lot by being kissed by an adult or someone who has it on their lips. That is the easiest way to transmit it. So yes you can be a virgin, but still have herpes on your lips, if you were kissed or shared some chap stick or something with someone who had the virus.
