Yeast infections are no laughing matter and thousands of people each year are affected. The condition is caused due to an overgrowth of fungus called Candida Albicans. It is most often found in the digestive tract, mouth cavity, or genital regions and is characterized by excessive pain, itching and burning sensation in the genitals along with white milky or cheese like discharge. If it is not treated properly, it can take quite a long time to get rid of such an infection.
It is very important that you understand that most of the
so-called treatments for this condition simply mask or treat the symptoms and will only provide temporary relief, but will not do anything to permanently get rid of the infections. Although they may get rid of the burning itching and painful irritation for a while, they do not alleviate the root cause, which is Candida Albicans.

Not for Candida, but people do use tampons covered in yogurt to treat yeast infections. As to if they work or not, it depends on how bad the infection is and what you have in your body.
More specifically, if you don’t have enough of the beneficial bacteria (Probiotics) to help keep yeast and growths at bay, it may take longer for the yogurt to work when applied directly to the site and it’s more possible for it to come back afterward. If you are having recurring yeast issues, I would recommend taking a good Probiotic supplement with 30+ billion viable organisms from several strains. In addition to Probiotics, Caprylic Acid and Grapefruit Seed Extract also help to fight the Candida directly, so those three together are a very good combination to fight Candida.
Also, you may want to watch your diet to help clear Candida up sooner. I would avoid sugary foods (since sugar feeds Candida) and if you want to cover all your bases, even natural sugars would be best to avoid (eg. fruits, fructose, ribose, etc) because yeast can feed on most any sugars. Also, minimize the refined carbs you eat for the same reason… carbs convert into sugar in your system, which feeds yeast. It seems too obvious to say avoid products with yeast (breads and whatnot), but still.
Those options will help a LOT to starve them while you attack with the supplements. Eating lots of fiber (veggies, especially) will help with elimination, which can help remove some of the yeast as well. There are a lot of angles that fighting Candida comes from, not just one or two.
Most of the cases I’ve heard of that used regimens like this showed an impact within just a few days (where they noticed some benefits) and were often almost completely gone within a month or so, but some more extreme cases took longer. Good luck and I hope I helped!
I have’nt tried them but I do have experience with herbal and holistic remedies. Many are very good. Try it if it doesn’t work you can always get the over the counter stuff.
I’ve never actually heard of herbal tampons. You might try natural LIVE yoghurt instead. This needs to be introduced into the vagina with either a tampon or syringe (without the needle!). The key is not the yogurt itself but the bacteria, lactobacillus acidophilus, in the yogurt. This helps the body maintain, or regain, its natural pH level.
I’ve never heard of a Herbal tampon either. What is is?
you’ve got some really good answers but I would like to add a bit. To treat my yeast infections I use live yogurt on the site, probiotics, cut down on the sugars and carbs and I eat lots of garlic and onions. Garlic bread, roasted onions, soup of pureed onions and garlic with yogurt on the side. I have heard that garlic has anti fungal properties. All ladies know that you seem to get a lingering odor down there according to what you eat, well when smells of garlic and onion you know that you’ve done your job. The husband or lover may not appreciate it but this better than itching. Besides once you stop eating so much of it the smell will go away
Rhiana suggesting a natural cure??? My goodness, whats next? Reiki?
And no I would not trust "herbal" tampons.
I have heard of Herbal Tampons. Herbitam is great!! After the birth of my daughter i began getting thrush quite often and really struggled to find a remedy. After hearing about Herbitam(herbal tampons) from my friend, i decided to try them. After one application i felt the benefits straightaway!! I have rarely suffered from thrush since.
To all those sceptics out there….. Try HERBITAM. It really does work!!!!
I have tried Herbal Tampons and they are sooo much better than live yoghurt. I have a healthy diet anyway and as i have suffered from Thrush for years, i seem to have tried every trick in the book. I have avoided certain foods, eaten tons of certain foods and none seemed to prevent me from getting itchy and sore.
I decided to just go for it as i got to the point where i would’ve have tried anything.
Herbal Tampons really did work for me. I found a website that has introduced tampons that you dont need to inject as they come with a gel . I really recommend sufferers of thrush to try Herbal tampons. If it stops thrush and stops you being uncomfortable then why not?!!??
