first of all where is the yeast infection at? If it is on the body of the dog you can use over the counter monistat 7. I have used the inserts in one of my dogs I know that sounds grose but I have used it for 3 days cut it into 3rds or forths and inserted it into the uritheria. At the same time I bought yougart over the counter vanilla, lemon things that they will eat that have no berries or choclate. do yougart twice a day like two table spoons depending on how big the dog is. I did this together for a week and had no problems with her health. It was a cocker spanial. I found out though that she would get better for a few months no redness or swelling and it would come back due to the food we were giving her. We changed her diet to purina one lamb and rice and once a week give her yougart for good measure and had no more problems. If it is on the out side on the skin bath the dog like everyother day I know this can be tiring but after she is clean and dry apply monistat 7 cream to the areas and use it for a week but you must make sure that she is clean when applying the oil on the skin doesn't allow it to penitrate the skin very well and can take longer and more cream. Anyway I did this to two different dogs and the monistate suggestion came from a vet. One last thing if your still unsure what to do. call your local animal rescue foundation they usually have a vet that comes in to treat animals in there area free of charge you just have to pay for the meds like if they need a rabies shot you have to pay for the shot not the vet and they can give you advice too for free most people don;t know this I actually found this out myself anyway i hope this helps.

You can't cure it. You have to take her to the vet. Trust me, she is miserable. If you don't have enough money, do a payment plan, you have to take her asap

How will bathing or shampoos help a yeast infection?

Only a Vet will be able to help you. They can DIAGNOSE it & treat it.

& how do you know for sure it is a yeast infection?

And you diagnosed a yeast infection how exactly without taking her to a vet? You're guessing, and it could be something serious, like a UTI or uterine infection. An office visit is VERY inexpensive. Put it on a charge card

Try calling PDSA, explain the symptoms, and just maybe they can tell you what to do. If you are unemployed, there are some animal dispensaries that you can only give a donation to. Give them a call. Hope you can your wee dog fixed, I hate to see animals suffer.

First, there have been several responses indicating that you should seek the advice of a veterinarian. THAT IS GOOD ADVICE, however you may also find that a veterinary technician can diagnose the problem, at a much lower cost. That said treatment depends on where the infection is, skin infections can generally be treated with shampoos that contain about 4% chlorhexidine, such as Chlorhexiderm Max but some over the counter shampoos also contain ingredients that may help, such as Selsun Blue.
Most important is treatment of the underlying causes and prevention of reoccurrences

I hate to tell you this, but you don't have any idea what your dog has! You can't diagnose her! Be responsible and take her to the vet; like the other guy said, make a payment plan!
