Does Diflucan work for herpes?
I was a little freaked out because I had these symptoms:
*pain and irritation in vaginal area
*itching
*sensitivity in my groin area, around the glands–almost like underwear irritation
*clumpy discharge (white)
I was tested before any of these symptoms and all came back negative except for my HSV-1 test–it showed up positive, but I have never had an outbreak on my mouth or my genital area. After this, the symptoms listed above occurred, and I thought it was just a yeast infection. No blisters or lesions or anything like that. I took the one dose of Diflucan and it was cured in a week. Now, I feel fine and everything is normal down there. But, I can’t help but think after testing positive for HSV-1 that it could have something to do with it. I took that Diflucan and it worked, so it makes me think that it was just a yeast infection. What do you think?

Diflucan works only for yeast infections. There are two types of HSV infections. Unless your doctor said that the type you tested + for was GENITAL herpes, you may just be testing positive for cold sores. Ask a doctor or health care professional to go over your results, you may very well be getting freaked out about nothing uncommon at all.
Diflucan is for infections, like a yeast infection. HSV is a viral infection.
No, Diflucan doesn’t work for herpes. It works for yeast infections – which is what you apparently had.
