Does anyone know how long it takes for a yeast infection to start showing symptoms?
I am trying to pinpoint exactly what is causing my infection so I can prevent future infections, but I am having a hard time finding out how long it takes for the infection to become noticable.
I started noticing symptoms early this morning. Also, I have a boyfriend of 2+ years so it isn’t from multiple partners. I have narrowed the possible infection starters to just getting off my period, scented tampons, or sex.

That’s because it’s almost always not diagnosed until the effects are noticeable. I would say you can tell pretty quickly, though the symptoms may start off mild and get more severe.
In the meantime, general things that cause yeast infections include antibiotic use, birth control pills, wearing non-cotton underwear, any douche, cream, insert, or perfume used down there, or if there’s a new scented soap, etc. Even an antibacterial soap is bad because it kills the bacteria that are keeping the yeast at bay. some people think eating a lot of sugar…so many things.
I would just think of anything recently (and I mean in the past week when you started noticing symptoms) that is different than before, and change that habit, be it a new soap or a different birth control pill.
Edit: I would think its more likely the scented tampons or coming off your period than sex if its not a new partner, unless, certain spermicides can cause yeast infections. Was one used in the condom or elsewhere?
you will notice the symptoms pretty quickly. Multiple sex partners is one of the leading causes of yeast infections along with child birth. Vaginal douches, unclean sex can also contribute. If you keep getting them also look at your diet.
