Do I have a vaginal yeast infection?

My inner labia and around my vagina itch, and they are bright red and a bit swollen. these are my only symptoms. Please help! I’m only 12 and I don’t feel comfortable going to a doctor, or telling my mom…

it is quite possible that you have an infection. But from the sound of it, cause of your lack of discharge and othre grossness, that it’s not a yeast infection.
Be sure that you clean it daily, wear cleanm, cotten undies, avoid tight pants (believe it or not it CAN effect your downstairs, cause they can’t breathe), drink lots of liquids like water and juice, and if the itchiness and swelling don’t go away in a week, you will have to go to the doctor
To help with the itching, sit in the tub and pour cool water down from the top, near your clitorus. Pour slowly. it may take a few pours, but it usually helps. make sure you keep yourself clean, but becareful what soaps you use, they could cause even more itching.

But if you can’t talk to her, find another female you trust, like an aunt or the mom of a friend whom you’re close with.
When you have a yeast infection it is usually acommpanied by a white thick discharge, but you say your only symptoms are the ones you mentioned.. it may also be because of vaginal dryness, or maybe your underwear are n too thight and thye iritate your vagina, or they may be on too lose and it may rub on your vagina making it get irritated.. or it can be that you are allergic to the material your underwear are made of.. or the soap you used.. there are numbers of things that can cause.. and you should really go to the docotr so he can take a look and prescribe you a cream for that. or you can go out to a pharmacy and buy it yourself but you usually need parents permission to do so..
