Yeah, there are pretty sure chances of this that your first outbreak will occur after certain time of your infection started.
So if unfortunately you have positive results, then gain knowledge about herpes cure, medication, prevention by yourself and found the easiest and rightest way to get rid of it by yourself.
Yes. You have acquired, most likely, HSV, type 2. Common, and your outbreak is evidence.
Commonly an outbreak will show on the genitals within a month of infection, however some people can go well over a year without any signs and be infected with the herpes simplex virus, in this case, type 2.
Only difference here with type, is type 1 is the herpes virus that is more commonly known as ‘cold sores’ — while this can be sexually transmitted, it does not effect the genitals.
So, yes you could have contracted this virus from your previous boyfriend, this boyfriend, or one a long time ago .. depending on your sexual activity.
It can be controlled quite well,.. you should be fine with treatment.
Yes. If it is herpes it will be with you for life which requires precautions. It may be another STD. In either case, where has this guy been sexually? Have you been sexual with others? I do hope you are ok. Good luck
Its possible that your current and any past contacts are the source. Some people are infected with herpes and have a delayed first outbreak – some never have an outbreak at all and dont know they have the virus.
Did you see the test results your boyfriend says he has from a month earlier?
Contrary to what another poster said, HSV1 which is commonly associated with cold sores is easily transferred to the genitals via oral sex so there is a chance (small) that you outbreak is Herpes 1.
The test results will help solve the puzzle, hopefully its good news for both of you.
