And not everyone uses the right amount of chemicals to kill off grunge...IF they use the chemicals at all! If you're symptom free right now, STAY AWAY from that jacuzzi!! If the symptoms continue to stay away then you have your answer. While it could be the water, it could also be just heat. Every woman has natually occurring bacteria in their vagina. In the right conditions, that bacteria can overgrow and become Vaginosis. Also, if you haven't had your BF do so, maybe you should see about him getting treated as well. Men can sometimes be carriers of yeast and bacteria and not even know it! So the reinfection occurs because you're just passing it back and forth among the two of you. There are a lot of germs in a jacuzzi & I know that I was told to avoid using a hot tub or jacuzzi when I HAD an infection...I would assume that you can transmit it to others this way due to the circulation of the water. They are usually very poorly maintained, because it is hard to keep chlorine levels high in hot water. If the chlorine level is too low, it won't be effective. Hot tubs are basically a bacteria soup.
