Can athlete’s foot be transferred & end up being a vaginal yeast infection?
My husband was treating himself for athlete’s foot. Now several days later, I have a vaginal yeast infection. I asked him if he had been washing his hands after applying the cream to his feet; of course he said yes, but I’m not so sure. Has anybody else had this situation? I’m burning & itching! Tried the Monistat 1 day treatment, I felt like I was lit on fire. It kept me awake all night. I am not prone to yeast infections, so I am very upset.
I knew both conditions were caused by the same thing (along with thrush in the mouth). I just wanted to know how easy this is to transfer/spread! I guess anything is possible.

The more important thing is that you can pass it back and forth. If you pass it to him in the form of jock itch it can come back to you again. It can even invade his urinary tract in a form called male yeast infection that will cause the tip of his penis to itch. This form is even more easily transmitted back to you.
Athlete’s foot is a condition of the feet, not vaginas.
