Can a vaginal infection make you lose weight?
I have had a vaginal infection for 4 months (been treated 3 times but it keeps coming back…). It is not a yeast infection, just an overgrowth of good bacteria but somehow can’t get rid of it even with metrogel. I’ve noticed that I lost maybe 6-7 lbs since it started, could that be caused by the infection?
I am worried because my obgyn can’t figure out what’s going on and I don’t want to lose too much weight, I am already thin enough as it is…

Yea, usually a vaginal infection will make you lose your apitite. I had UTI once and lost about 6 lbs, but I was in pain and I refused to eat… Not sure whether I lost my apetite or not…
I suppose if you are worrying and stressing over it, then yes it can. But it is quite bizarre, I don’t think a direct infection can cause such a thing.
I don’t know about that, but I do want to make sure that you are not washing down there with soap when you shower. Just use water. I don’t know if doctors let people know that.
