Can a first outbreak of Herpes appear on your chest?

My buddy said he had his first outbreak of herpes on his chest. It was a horseshoe shapped row of bumps. Ive read information on various sites and it doesnt state that.

you can have herpes zoster- shingles on the chest in a linear pattern that wraps 1/2 way around the body. Never really heard of genital herpes first appearing on chest unless had depleated immune system then it would be possible.
It’s possible to get herpes anywhere on your body. Genitals, mouth, eyes, torso…anywhere. It’s a nifty little virus that can find the smallest abrasion to gain entry into the nervous system. Technically, if someone with active herpes was to kiss (or rub their genitals on?) another person on their torso and that person had a scratch or a cut, the virus could gain access there.
Realistically, I don’t know how common that would be, I just know it’s possible.
There are only two situations that I know of that would cause a "herpes" outbreak on your chest.
First, he could have shingles. Shingles causes herpes-like sores anywhere on your body. It’s caused by the chicken pox virus, and you can’t actually have it unless you’ve had chicken pox. It’s most common in the elderly and people with lowered immune systems.
Second, there are occasionally situations where wrestlers will get herpes outbreaks across their chests and backs. Apparently, someone who wrestles with a cold sore will smear the virus onto the mat, and then someone will have their skin badly abraded across the same mat and get the herpes on their torso. It’s rare (since the herpes virus REALLY don’t want to be anywhere other than the mouth, genitals and sometimes eyes), and the infected person will probably only ever get that one outbreak – but it does happen. Other than those two situations, I don’t know how he could have herpes on his chest. Sorry.
