bacterial vaginosis?
had been having discharge and irritation for months and finally i got myself to go into family planning, and was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I am now taking flagyl 500 mg 2 a day for 7 days. I started taking them on sunday. Will this compltely cure me of bv? These pills make me kinda sick, and When does the discharge and symptoms usually start to go away?

The flagyl should help you feel better in 3-5 days. MAKE sure you do not consume any alcohol while on that med, it will make you very nauseous.
So not have any sexual contact while on the med, you can transmit this back and forth even though it is not technically an STD.
Another med you could take would be clindesse vaginal cream, you only have to use it once (is RX) at bedtime and you would not have to worry about the nausea.
Hope this helps, I treat this all the time in my practice, it is VERY common.
If you have any other questions on this that I did not answer, look at WEBMD.com, it has accurate medical info.
I was just tested today to see if I had it but I don’t, My doctor said If I did have it, that it could take a couple of months maybe more.

It takes a few days but it works really well. It should be completely gone soon
