I experience Candida (I am assuming you refer to oral thrush) quite often because of a medication I take (Steroid Inhaler and antiobotics). I have never used the medication you refer to, however, The Dr. I use recommends Diflucan which is a capsole - and it works wonderfully well. No side affect that I can detect. Also, as you probably know, yogurt helps. Another thing I find helpful is to buy frozen pineapple chunks, and suck on a few frozen pieces a couple times a day. It really helps and is very refreshing on the sore mouth. Something in the pineapple!

I have taken fluconazole and it worked, but it had some strange effects on my hormones. The special diet also worked, but I was also unable to stick to it. Topical antifungals were also effective, but I had to be on them chronically. Other helpful things were: keeping the affected areas as dry and aired out as possible and avoiding synthetic fabrics. When I stopped drinking milk every day, though, the problem completely went away...forever.

It sounds like you don't know if you actually have Candida, so checking with your doctor would be the first thing to do. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon.
