I would start with the over the counter medications such as tolnaftate (Tinactin), clotrimazole (Lotrimin), and miconazole (Micatin). Creams used to treat jock itch should be applied twice a day for at least two weeks. Keep using the cream for one week after the rash disappears. If the rash worsens, or does not improve see a doctor.
