Antiboitics and Probiotics, do they cancel each other out?
I was given:
Keflex
Bactrim
Zithromax
Genamicin
Penacillin
all at different times to get rid of an infection that I still HAVE!
Plus I was told to eat lots of Yogurt to not get a Yeast infection.
so Im wondering:
Am i defeting the purpose of the Antiboitics by consuming the yogurt which load you up with probiotics.
as this is the FIRST time I have ever NOT been able to rid myself of infection and used Yogurt at same time.
anyone know about this or can dirct me to a site for answers.
Please, thanks!

The theory is that the probiotics will replace the bacteria normally in your body after the antibiotic has killed them. They do this all the time (Rx. together) especiallly to deter Clostridium Difficile Diarrhea. Just what are they trying to rid you of? Sounds like they need a culture and sensitivity to ID the bug and appropriate antibiotic. Good Luck!
No it does not cancel it out, antibiotics kill all bacterial from you body, good and bad. Probiotics put the good bacteria back in your body, helping your immune system. You might want to do a whole body cleanse and a candida cleanse after being on all those antibiotics.
i think you just need a beer
The probiotics will not reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotics, but it’s possible that the antibiotics can kill some of the probiotics. You might still have an infection because it’s a strain that’s resistant to antibiotics. (The probiotics in the yogurt probably have nothing to do with your infection.)
100% alcohol will kill anything.
and what you don’t use,you can mix with Grape Tang and drink.
I call it a Purple Jesus
I would suggest a good dose of Uncle Jack or Uncle Johnny.
