I am a vegetarian, and I am supposed to have meat for the Candida diet. I’m obviously not going to eat meat. I am not supposed to have any sugar at ALL, in order to kill the yeast overgrowth. What can I replace the meat with for protein? I am eating a lot of beans and brown rice. I don’t know if beans or brown rice will turn into sugar. Any help would be great, especially if you know about intestinal yeast overgrowth (Candida) diet.
Are bean carbs, and do they turn into sugar in the body?

I have a Candida (yeast) overgrowth problem after taking a course of the the zpack. I’m currently on anti fungal medication to get rid of the overgrowth but I think I may have a baterial STD at the same time. I can not be put on another round of antibiotics (given my situation) until they pinpoint what and if I do have an STD which is taking some time. Can taking antifungals make the baterial infection worse if I do in fact have one?

Just in case you have wondered, I made my husband’s cheesecake totally separate from mine. lol
My husband asked me to make cherry cheesecake and I was desperate to at least eat some cream cheese plain…but I used xylitol, (it has anti fungal properties and is on the safe list for candida) added an egg, whipped it up and cooked it in the oven without a crust. I must have eaten too much of it. I felt a little funny at first but in an hour there were no other noticeable effects. I am sure that cream cheese isn’t good for elimination. Is heavy whipping cream allowed in a little coffee each morning? I read sooo many controversial versions of this diet, I hardly know what to do. Thanks for your answers!
Doug Kaufman is the one that says cream cheese and heavy whipping cream is allowed!
I only want to use the heavy whipping cream about 2 times a week in my coffee-for dessert.
this is not a diet to lose weight. It is a diet that rids your body of yeast.
I DO NOT NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT! THANK GOD! I just need to get rid of the fungus that was caused from too much sugar, grains, dairy products etc. Fungus/Yeast overgrowth is what causes arthritis, cancer, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome…the list goes on and on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She’s in excruciating pain every month in her abdomen, has ‘brain fog’, very bloated, hypothyroid *symptoms*, candida yeast overgrowth — she’s miserable, the doctors have been of no help, say there’s nothing wrong with her. Thyroid levels are all over the map, from one extreme to the other.
Alkaline diet didn’t help. At all. Almost went broke with the natural remedies. I refuse to give up. What can I do?

After feeling ill for nearly a year I finally found out that I had a candida yeast overgrowth. I have been on a low sugar, low caffeine diet for about a month now and have been taking garlic and probiotics for about 2 weeks. My other symptoms seem to be getting better, but my fatigue is as bad as ever. I sleep for 12 hours on some days. When should I expect the fatigue to go away?

I am fructose intolerant which is when you can’t absorb fructose a sugar found in fruit. I have yeast overgrowth in my intestines and just started the yeast free diet today. Do you think there is any hope that the yeast infection could be causing the fructose intolerance by messing with the intestines ability to properly make enzymes. I’m desperate to eat fructose again and am going out on a limb here. Do you think I have a prayer?

I am pretty sure I have a yeast overgrowth considering I have had all the symptoms. Brain fog, fatigue, depression, anxiety, etc. My doctor has prescribed me Diflucan? (I honestly don’t know how to spell it) But is it only 7 pills. I have been sick like this for 5 months. Will that really be enough? I also really need tips. Thanks!
