I just found out 2 days ago that my partner has Herpes Virus 1. He’s supposedly going to get blisters I think around the mouth, not genital herpes. Can you give me some info on the virus and tell me how to avoid getting it?
I just got a puppy from the pound and he had kennel cough, I took him back and they said that there is no treatment for this. They did give him antibiotics for a possible secondary infection but kennel cough has to run its course much like a humas virus has to. They did say I can use Robitussin DM for the coughing symptoms. The puppy is fine but now my older dog has it, the vet said we have to let it run its course but she looks so miserable. I am giving her robitussin but I want to give her a boost of natural antibiotics that are safve for dogs. I did get some drops from the health food store but they do not have any antibiotic properties.

So, I’ve always tried to be careful in the past about not getting herpes in the past by getting regularly tested and asking my partners to do the same. It hasn’t really been an issue until now though. I’m dating a girl I really like, but her doctor and her gynecologist are telling her that since she doesn’t have symptoms, she shouldn’t get tested and that they actually will refuse to test her for the virus. What am I to think about this? I’m interested in what other women are hearing from their doctors.
Someone I know wants to have sex with me, but they’re concern is that I have STD’s. I offered to get tested, but they said that thats not good enough because it’s possible for the disease or virus to become "dormant" and not show up on a test.
I believe that this is nonsense. I’ve always been told that the ONLY way to be sure you are infected is if you get tested.

I have heard that the chlamydia virus, although it can be treated with antibiotics, never actually leaves the system and can reoccur later, is this true?!?!

I believe my 2 cats have herpes virus 1, a friend said I should first try giving them Terramycin to clear their eyes up because it can also help the body fight of the virus. What should I do? P.S. I have 1 female& one male cat both adults& female is spayed.

I recently found out I have Herpes 2 virus. I know that it is not the worst thing in the world to have, but it is certainly among one of the most embaressing. I am young and still living my life. How do i go about telling those that i’m interested in about the virus? I’m advised to continue living my life how i would normally,and to even involve myself in monogamous sexual relationships, but how when getting close to a partner, should you tell them? Of course i know to not have intercourse when the outbreaks occur and that i should always use protection. But how do you go on telling someone?
Whats the reason that when you take a medicine for herpes , aciclovir or other , it helps you erasing the simptoms and put you healty again ,but it cant cure herpes ? Is not that the medicine goes throught your entire bloodstream and body ? why it cant eliminate the virus if it can eliminate it from the site of the sores ?
My friend recently confessed she has herpes and it’s shocked me because she has a perfectly normal social life and looks totally heathly. She says she has breakouts and didn’t know she had it. This will sound really stupid but I never really cared about stds besides hiv and it was just recently I found out that so many people have herpes, or at least in usa, here in europe, not so many I guess.
Well Ive been having sex with different girls just for one night, and am planning to… What are the chances this disease is transmitted? I will obviously notice if the person has an outbreak, or not? What can I do to prevent getting this virus from girls? Is there something together with a condom?
I am 25 and have genital herpes. I live with others in my household and am worried that they may contract the disease by using the same toilet facility. Is there any other way to get it other than sexual contact? How long does the virus live on surfaces like a toilet seat or things other than genitalia? Should I be worried about my family and housemates getting it from me, even though we do not have sexual contact? If possible please state your source and if you are from a medical background.
