i kissed a person without an outbreak who has herpes 1 over a month ago and i just got a little red bump in the corner of my mouth.
i also drank very hot coffee the other day.

I have oral herpes and i had an outbreak this week. Is it possible to transfer your oral herpes to your genitals? What about someone else’s genitals?
I have genital herpes type 1…and ive only had one outbreak (when i first got it)…what are the symptoms that occur when an outbreak is about to start? (feeling, look, etc…im a girl by the way) and are there any good prevention tips for when that feeling comes or even before then? (i am already taking L-Lysine once a day)

My new girlfriend recently discovered she had genital herpes but has never had an outbreak. she found out after we had unprotected sex only once. i want to know the odds that i could have gotten it before i go and get tested. and what symptoms are easiest to see since some symptoms are present in most STIs.
My boyfriend gets cold sores but only occasionally. Can he pass them to me even if he does not have one at the time? In other words, is the herpes simplex virus contagious if there is not outbreak of cold sores? Thanks!

I have had through out the years vaginal lesions. I didn’t think they were vaginal warts because there was not a wart bump, but more like a open sore. I as the doctor a year ago if I could have herpes and she said I had to come in when I had an outbreak. Now I am pregnant and my doctor says I have herpes and will need cream to put on during the birth so my child wont get it. I have a son 5 years ago and the doctor never said anything about herpes to me then. Is the blood test for herpes a new test? Would it have been detected 5 years ago if I had it then?

I’m a new ‘owner’ of herpes & i really feel depressed.Cold sores envelop my mouth from time to time.I still can’t accept the fact that i’m the only one in my family to have it.

I have both - both itchy and painful. I haven’t had an outbreak for a VERY long time. I had shingles when I was 15 (a small patch on my stomach) and now it seems I might have them again. I have a small patch of liquid blisters on my very lower back (right hand side)… it accellerates faster than people say shingles does but the pain runs down my legs to my feet. This is uncommon with genetal herpes. I have heard of genetal herpes popping up around the thy and butt region. I’m a little confused. Can anyone help me out? Thank you!

I know shingles fairly well because it was very rare for me to have them in the first place. There isn’t much a dr can do but give you pain medication. Thanks again.
This is for my knowledge because i do have herpes but i haven’t seen an outbreak or probably noticed it and its an year I’ve been diagnosed with it. Now, i have had sex with a lot of women of unknown status and i don’t know whether i have hsv1 in my genital area or hsv1 orally. So, Ive read that herpes makes a person more susceptible of getting HIV. How can this be possible through protected sex?
So people say that you can get genital herpes from having oral sex from someone who has cold sores.
What are the chances of getting genital herpes this way? Even if there is no sign of an outbreak?
I’m not asking whether I have it, I’m not asking what to do, I’m not asking what I should’ve done, I just want to know how long before I should see definite signs of ocular herpes. Thanks, everyone for your answers!
For a few days about a month ago and a half ago (around the same time as these other related symptoms started popping up) one of my eyes got really red like an infection so yeah. Would any of you assume that by now I’d have an outbreak?
I have had genital herpes for over a month and I want to know the chances of spreading it. I got it from my boyfriend but he has absolutely no symptoms. I finished having my first outbreak and I think I’m ready to have sex again but I just need to know if it’s safe for my boyfriend to give me oral sex. Wouldn’t it be alright if he did so and washed afterward? Or is this a definite way for him to get oral herpes?
