I seem to get 5-6 yeast infections a year so I use Monistat or the pill form of treatment several times a year. Could this be a super yeast infection that just gets beat down but not cleared up which is causing reoccuring infections or is this normal? I also use Macrobid as a maintence dose due to being super prone to bladder infections, but my doc said that Macrobid in such a low dose won’t cause yeast infections alone.

I just found out I have a yeast infection using a Monistat screening kit and I bought a Monistat one day treatment. This is the first time I’ve ever had one and the number on the screening kit’s thing was 6.0 if that’s helpful. Is it better to use the one day treatment versus the 7 day treatment?

Wednesday night I realized I had a yeast infection so on Thursday I went & bought a one day Monistat Ovale treatment for at night. I followed the directions & put it in before bed. The cream stuff was coming out of my vagina like it’s supposed to a little, then a little later I got a burning sensation. It wasn’t unbearable, but noticeable. The next day, the burning persisted.

It’s now Friday night & I’m having slight burning. I’ve been wearing pantyliners, & I noticed a very light red on one, almost like a coral color. It was like the yeast or the cream from Monistat mixed with my blood. I still have over a week before my period is supposed to start.

My last period, I bled very lightly for a week before & it persisted through my period very light.

I don’t know what is going on here, but if anyone has some suggestions or answers, please help.

I’m a college student with no car & little money so I can’t go to the hospital. My doctor is hours away. The health center on campus is closed all weekend. My mother is ignoring my calls because she is on vacation.

So apparantly I have had a yeast infection for a while but I never really noticed it, but I just got off my period so now its back but REALLY bad. To the point of crying. But all the insides of my vagina are REALLY swollen and hurt extremely bad. I did the one day treatment of Monistat for the yeast infection and I was so swollen it was hard to even put the insert inside of me I was so swollen. How do I get the swelling down??? I can’t get to the doctor for a while because I don’t really have any money so I have to wait to go to the free clinic. But until then I just really want the swelling to go down. Any ideas?? I don’t know what to do. I can’t get to a doctor to check but I’m pretty sure I have one. I have discharge and my vagina is giving off a very terrible smell also I’m very swollen and itchy there. My problem is that I’m a virgin and I can’t use monistat or anything like that because I am not, well popped yet and I don’t want to do that to myself, so is there anything I can take by mouth to cure this?

**Does a yeast infection go away after your period or is it still there? Should you still use a treatment like Monistat?

Whenever I get a yeast infection it almost always comes right before my period (about a week) — and the symptoms go away after — Does this mean it’s gone?

I’m 13 weeks pregnant and went to my midwife today. She just looked and said she thinks i have a yeast infection. She didn’t send anything to the lab or anything…She wrote me a prescription for Monistat but since I have Medi-cal , the pharmacy gave me a generic 7-day treatment. On the instructions, it says only use during pregnancy when CLEARLY necessary.

My question is, is it safe to use? How far do I apply the cream?

Also, can it cause miscarriage ? I"m very worried.

I just found out that i’m pregnant, and am wondering if that might be the reason why my yeast infection won’t go away. I’ve used the full treatment of monistat and a full treatment of terazol. Saw the doctor who did a swab for other "infections", but just from the naked eye, he said it still looked like it was just yeast. Any thoughts on treatment of infections during pregnancy? I have taken the medicine for yeast infections before.. but I feel like I am just getting one. If I eat yogurt, will it cure it? I don’t want to have to take the monistat.

Okay, I’m officially going nuts. I told my mom about my possible yeast infection and stuff and I called the doctors and they wouldn’t be able to see me until the very end of this month or the beginning of next month. I can’t wait that long! The itching is driving me insane and vagasil hasn’t helped. I’ve never had a yeast infection, I’m 17, and I know I can’t put up with this until the end of this month or next month. Can I go to the pharmacy and buy monistat and try it, even if I’m not positive its a yeast infection? Will it hurt me to try? HELP!
Does anybody know long it takes to start feeling better after using monistat?

I’ve had yeast infections before but i have never tried eating yogurt to cure it. For the past 3 weeks i’ve ate yogurt daily and have taken yeast infection pills. Recently, clumps of yeast have discharged my body as if i used monistat or something, and i’m wondering is this a sign of the infection leaving or is it worsening?

There are basically 2 treatments of yeast infections that i know of: the Diflucan one dose pill and the Monistat insertion ovules. I was wondering if anybody has a certain preference because it works better. If you like the Monistat, do you like the one day dose, or the 3 day dose? I currently have a yeast infection and my doctor gave me a prescription for the Diflucan, but i couldn’t afford to buy it til i get paid Friday. so i bought the single dose Monistat and it doesn’t seem that it worked.

I took the 1-day ticonazole treatment by monistat on Tuesday. At that point, I was uncomfortable, but with no discharge or anything. The yeast infection seems to have gotten worse instead of better! Now it burns when i pee and there is the gross white discharge. I cant take any more of the treatments can I ? Since it’s time-released…?
