where do i get a test for yeast overgrowth?

i’ve had suspicions that i might have candidiasis but don’t know where to get tested… i’d rather know for sure before i do the diet
i went to my gyno and they said they didn’t really do it. they do for yeast infections that are vaginal but that’s not really what ‘m referring to.

What is the best Anti-Candida Diet?

I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a car. (yes, I’ve been hit by a car before, I know what it feels like.) I discovered in the last few days that I have a male yeast infection, and after extensive research into it, trying to determine what questions I should ask my dr, I stumbled on Candida. I’ve stumbled across multiple websites all over the internets that say, buy my supplement to to rid yourself of Candida. For most people that have a disposable income, (which isn’t many in this recession) the cost of the product isn’t so prohibitive. However, I’m on a fixed income. Fixed income is the governments way of saying that we’re going to pay you less than poverty level income, and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Anyways, all of these sites have a list of Candida overgrowth symptoms, etc, and it would appear that I have all of them as they apply to males. It’s difficult for me to determine if this is just all some fad or hype on the internet, because it seems the best source of information is from those people that want to sell me some obscure fix.
I remember being capable of applying my mind to a problem and being able to work through it to the end of the problem. Over the last 2 years, my mind has become quite a foggy mess, and I find it difficult to remain on task, because I forget what I was thinking about.
As there are many differences as to what the ‘best’ is, I decided to clarify what I think would be good for me as far as best.
I need a diet that is easy to follow, and is affordable on my income. I spend between -0 a month on food. I haven’t done much shopping yet for the month, but I estimate to have around remaining for the month.
I won’t buy any ’special - specific anti candida treatments’. I cannot afford to waste that money, and money back guarantees are frustrating. (odds are I’ll forget anyways.)
Since I’m often erratic in my means and methods, I intend to stock my food stores up with things that aim to be anti-candida, so no matter what I manage to grab to feed myself, will be along the lines of my end goal. (anti - candida snack foods)
I’ve taken the first step toward this goal, and I have resigned to drinking my iced tea without any sugar in it. I read somewhere that I should avoid tea for an anti candida diet. I need to know if this is something I can ignore. I drink just standard tea, orange pekoe, I brew it pretty strong, 10 small bags for about 3-8 hours per 2 quarts of water. I also brew it cold. It’s pretty much my last vice, other than smoking, and when I quit that, my tea will be my last vice.
I’m sorry the detail is lengthy, I hope it is not too redundant. Thank you to all who try to help me with this in advance.
For those of you that desire to SPAM this thread, don’t. I will not tolerate answers that are totally unrelated to my question, answers that promote some silly site where you are trying to make a buck on a referral, I want a direct, informative answer related to my question. If you can’t be bothered to READ the question, and the guidelines for answers, don’t bother answering it.

I need to go on a diet, not to lose weight, but to get over a lot of health symptoms I’ve been having. I went to the doctor to be tested for food allergies, and although nothing came back positive, I don’t tolerate milk or wheat very well. Also, I’ve had a candida infection which makes me think I might have candida albicans overgrowth. After searching for the right type of diet on the web, I’m more confused than ever and have no idea what foods will give me the best health without leaving me starving. I’m in Europe and it’s hard finding a good natural health practitioner. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Ok, let me just emphasize three things again bc I got the feeling my question wasn’t read very carefully:
1. I am not trying to lose weight, period, and in Europe, slim-fast doesn’t exist anyway.
2. I can’t eat wheat or other grains because they upset my stomach, hence the US food pyriamid is out of the picture.
3. I have been searching the web and it just leaves me more confused.
I DON’T WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT! I WANT TO FIND THE RIGHT FOOD FOR MY BODY, NOT NECESSARILY FOR WEIGHT-LOSS!!!

Aside from switching everything that comes in contact to a hypoallergenic product I’m still having symptoms. It’s driving me nuts. I can’t figure out what I am allergic to. Is there a special kind of diet that I could try?

Its now thursday and the visual symptoms are almost all but gone, however I want to know how long I should leave it before I can safely have intercourse without infecting my partner?

Candida Vegetable and Yogurt diet weight loss?

I have Candida. I was told by many people that they lost all the Candida weight by eating only vegetables and organic plain yogurt with probiotics. Some lost 30 lbs in 3 weeks! It makes sense because the diet is restrictive already. I dont want to eat meat. Nuts are bad because of mold and sugar of any sort is a no no. Plus beans and rice should be eaten minimal.

Anyone out there try this diet, and how much did you lose or others should expect. Im 5′6" and 130-140 lbs. most of it being water retention.

I need to include more foods in my diet that are rich in probiotics and prebiotics but I’m having a hard time finding a list of foods that contain these things. A link to a good website about these things would be nice too. Thanks!

Anyone tried the Anti-Candida Diet?

I am giving it a go in an attempt to sort various symptoms but mainly my tummy troubles that have been ongoing for the last 5/6 years. I researched it on t’internet and am really keen to try it as have been in and out of doctors surgeries and hospitals for years with no luck :-( However the diet seems so strict-I am worried I wont be able to stick to it and then not cure myself…

Has anyone any experiences with it they can share?

We have a 3 yr. old female cat that is constantly getting bladder infections. We put her on a low ash diet and make sure she has plenty of water. Taking her to the vet everytime she gets one of these is getting expensive. Does anyone have a natural remedy for cats with this problem or have a preventative diet that works?

I’ve had blood test and all come back normal, but I get colds at least every three months.
Also, will I need to change my diet drastically or just add more veggies to my diet?

How long can I wait to have my gall bladder removed?

I have had only 1 attack, 4 weeks ago, after landing upside down from falling off a horse. 12 hrs later I was in the ER and they did a scan and said it was my gall bladder w/ stones. I went home and have felt fine (if not perfect) ever since. I have occasional twinges but no pain. I haven’t changed my diet much. My concern is, if I wait too long will they have to do the big surgery and not the laproscopic one?

I am very familiar with the topic and google-ing the words only seems to get you one advertisement after another. I am looking for personal first hand or perhaps close second hand information about trials/errors and successes. It seems unclear to me if its possible to tip the scales back to ‘normal’ after diet and supplemental intervention or is this a lifetime dis-balance?

My daughter suffers from eczema due to multiple food and environmental allergies that are very difficult to avoid. We have searched in vain for adequate treatment of her eczema. I have heard that introducing probiotics into her diet may help. Does anyone know if this is accurate, and if so, how do they work?
