My 14mos old son has thrush on his bum. Took him to the Dr on Monday, who prescribed a clotrimazole cream. We are cleaning his bum with cotton wool and water, but it doesn’t seem to be clearing!
i should mention, it isn’t on his penis, just on his bum hole. cheeks and the sides of his testicles. Should i put the cream on his penis anyway so that it doesn’t spread?
umm camie did you not read my question at all?!!

Hi Everyone,
About a month or so ago I got a yeast infection out of nowhere (ive had them before due to antibiotics). I used monistat 3 which didnt work, so i went to the dr. and got diflucan. I’ve never had an issue with monistat not working, and the diflucan took a full week to actually clear me of all symptoms. So i think it was a pretty stubborn infection. Since then i have been tkaing probiotics to help keep things at bay. However abotu 2 weeks ago i had that sudden itching again, but it lasted only abotu 24 hours and i was fine. And then about 2 days ago it was back with a vengance! Def more mild than the previous infection, but still very uncomfortable. Since monistat didnt work for me before, i thought i should go the natural route. I have been using yogurt (that tampon trick) for about 24 hours now and things really feel better. Yesterday I used the tampon twice and instantly i felt SOOOO much relief. I didnt use it at night, and this morning I woke up and it was back to being pretty itchy. Not horrible, but again, very uncomfortable. So I guess my question is:
1. How often should you use the tampon each day, and how long does it take to work normally?
2. Does the yogurt actually work to cure it or is it only soothing my symptoms?
*I really dont want to go to the dr. and get another pill of diflucan as I dont want to further help this thing build a resistance. I’ve also heard of garlic…does anyone know where I can get good garlic pills at like a pharmacy or gnc? I dont wanna buy online and wait days you know? Thanks!
*to Hope: Is there a difference between clotrimazole and that stuff in monostat…micanozole or whatever its called? I’m nervous to make it worse if i take the wrong thing.
** Ref. the trich..thanks, i didnt even think of that. However, aside from being in a relationship for over a year, I have had my normal gyno appt in recent months, as well as when i first went to the dr for the yeast infection. they did a culture and everything came back negative. If things dont clear up soon tho, i will prob go back and look into that option.

I have a yeast infection, which I bought clotrimazole 3 day treatment for. I finished the treatment, but still have some itching and burning in my vaginal area. I have tried the vinegar treatment, but it doesnt seem to work. I have been taking acidophilus supplements to help combat the problem, and it seems I read somewhere that these geltabs can be placed in the vagina. Is this possible?

Argh! I’ve never had this before and am at the end of my rope! I have a rash on my neck caused by yeast. My dermatologist is having me treat it with diet, supplements (acidophilous, garlic, zinc), and topical clotrimazole. It’s working, but s-l-o-w-l-y. It’s been over a month, and most of it is gone, but is seems to have almost stopped clearing- there are the same remaining bumps and brown spots where the bumps have cleared. Is there ANYTHING I can do to get over this last "hump"? I’ve been gently exfoliating and using a salicylic acid antibacterial cleanser, I was told it was safe to use. Anyone? I’ve searched the web for days and can only find stuff on how to cure diaper rash (almost all of which I’ve tried), not adults.

I’m not sure if I have a fungal skin infection, but just in case I plan to apply Lotrimin (clotrimazole) cream. Could this be bad?

im using ketoconazole 200mg tablet and clotrimazole cream. but now i stop using clotrimazole cream. i only take ketoconazole tablet once a day. is it ok to take tablets only? should i use other antifungal tablet and cream?

I know that Lotrimin is Clotrimazole Cream which is what a doctor prescibed me when I had a yeast infection a year ago. Now I have another and was wondering if I could just use the Lotrimin cream instead of going to the doctors?

I am afflicted with a male yeast infection, I've avoided treatment simply because it seems very painful considering the area is VERY tender I was wondering how painful is treating a male yeast infection (using 1 % Clotrimazole) on a pain scale from 1-10, and possibly some suggestions of less painful treatments and PLEASE NO INSULTS it is as humiliating as it is irritating
thank you very much for replying, just wondering if it did burn afterward or maybe just a warming sensation? I don't know but it was painful for me, but I assume that's not the case with everyone but, since it did happen, is it normal? and also will urinating afterward lessen the effect?
